Boys Volleyball Looks to the Future

After finishing this year’s season with a 3-3 City League record and losing to Obama in the championship match on May 16th, Allderdice’s boys volleyball team looks to improve and focus on next year’s goal of attaining a championship title.

Girls’ Ultimate Season Wrap Up

The Northeastern Tournament, which took place the weekend of May 11th in Massachusetts, proved to be a test for the Dice Girls’ Ultimate Frisbee team. Undefeated in the Pittsburgh High School Ultimate League (PHUL), they had swept aside all competition prior to that weekend. They were confident going into the tournament.

Player Profile: Ben Katz

This year, Boys’ Volleyball finished second at City Championships, “so it can’t be considered a successful year” according to senior Captain Ben Katz.

Track and Field

Boys’ and girls’ Track and Field both finished first at City Championships on May 19. Led by Biology Teacher and Coach Ed Flynn, the boys earned 220 points, double the amount of the second place winner.

The ESPY Awards

Allderdice’s ESPY sports awards ceremony, held May 16th, displayed the school’s most talented athletes and its pride in its sports teams. Allderdice has long been known for athletics, and though the City League will be dissolved for most sports next year, the 13 titles amassed by Allderdice solidified its place as champions within the city. In fact, in three sports that Allderdice didn’t win the title, its teams represented the school in the championship game.
